Recruitment events

Over the last couple of months the staff at Play Inclusion Project have been busy attending events in Blackpool and Preston to recruit new volunteers and young people for our groups. A big thank you to Blackpool and Fylde College, Lytahm 6th Form, University of Central Lancashire, Preston’s College for allowing us to attend these and speak to the students.

 

Weekly Groups are back!

Weekly groups are now back up and running in Blackpool, Flyde, Preston and Wyre. Get in touch with us in the office for more details about the groups and what we provide for the young people who attend.

Funding for Wyre and Preston continues

We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in securing a contract with Lancashire County Council to continue to deliver short break activities as part of Lancashire Break Time in Wyre and Preston. The funding will enable us to continue to deliver two weekly groups in each area and Activity Clubs during school holidays.

Activity Club Coordinators are busy finalising the details for May half term and letters will be sent out soon.

Charity Quiz Night

Our next fundraising event will be a charity quiz night on Thursday 6th April at The Breck club in Poulton, 7:30pm-11:00pm.  Entry is £3.00 per person and there will be a raffle and prizes on the night.

Please come and support us by putting a team together and testing your general knowledge.  All proceeds raised will go towards activities and resources for local children with additional needs and disabilities.

February Activity Club

Invite letters are out for Activity Clubs being delivered in Blackpool, Wyre and Preston. Activities on offer across the week include the ever popular Space and McDonalds, a trip to Farmer Parr’s Animal World and a visit to the newly opened Glazey Days Creative Cafe.

We are now actively recruiting volunteers to support the children and young people who attend our Activity Clubs and volunteering can lead to paid work!

Christmas

The office will close today to give staff some time off before delivering the Christmas Activity Clubs in Blackpool, Wyre & Preston and will reopen on Monday 9th January 2017, weekly groups will also recommence this week.

In the meantime if anyone needs to contact us regarding Activity Clubs, please do so via email as Joanne will be checking them regularly over the Christmas period.

PIP Charity Dinner

On Friday 11th November 2016 Play Inclusion Project is hosting a charity dinner at The North Euston Hotel in Fleetwood.  Tickets cost £25 and include a three course meal of soup, a roast beef dinner and fruit crumble for dessert.  Following the meal there will be live music from John Banks and a disco.  There will also be a raffle on the night and prizes include a spa day for two at Spa on the Breck.

All proceeds raised by the event will enable us to continue providing activities for local children and young people with additional needs and disabilities.
